I might as well take the devil's advocate position (you know I love to!); that it is time to eat, drink, and make merry. If most of one's debt is to large rapacious
corporations, then one might as well run up huge balances, and when the time is right - walk (or sail) away from it, having had one's fun and sticking said organizations with the debt. In the world you are predicting a credit rating won't mean shit, so bankruptcy will be OK too as long as you never plan to need credit again! Of course you had better have the skills and social network to survive after your credit is gone!
I wouldn't disagree with that necessarily. . .
